Thu, 11 May 2006 DJ Chester Chomp returns with the younglings for another hour of music and mayhem. Moe and Kimmy Showgirl from the Kimmy and Claire Show help Chester present the announcements. Since they are only in the second grade, some of the words are a little difficult to pronounce. Chomp lends a helping hand, only to get screamed at for his poor reading skills. Russ the Weatherguesser shows up late, (like a true superstar) and tries to explain why we are getting snow in May. This is difficult given the girls have both hands wrapped around his Weatherguessing neck! Russ also brings us a movie review of Chicken Little. Kimmy and Moe think that movie reviews are a great idea and want to get in on the action, but oh so sorry...too late! Music by Rebecca St. James, Imogen Heap, Natasha Bedingfield, Olive, Ride, The Cure, St. Etienne, The Communards and Shaggy. All music licensed through ASCAP or directly by the composer. Thu, 4 May 2006 DJ Chester Chomp finally gets his act together in producing the show, which required him to remember to bring his power cord for the laptop. Talk about commitment to "Total Quality Management." In this episode, Chomp, Russ the Weatherguesser, Kimmy Showgirl and Moe (aka Clairebear) all give Buzzkill a big send-off, World of Sound style. Buzzkill will be studying for the next three weeks in China. (Yes, that's the People's Republic of China, Mr. President.) Buzzkill makes the fatal mistake of flashing his travel cash in the studio. The younglings quickly overpower Buzzkill, fleece him, and then steal his car to use as their getaway vehicle. Music by Prince and the Revolution, T'Pau, Propellerheads feat. Shirley Bassey, Antal Dorati, Public Enemy, Eagles, Public Image Ltd., Rob Dougan and The Ramones. All music licensed through ASCAP or directly from the composer. **NOTE - Mistake!!! DJ Chester Chomp was incorrect when he indicated that it is OK to burn CDs of World of Sound. After contacting ASCAP, he learned that COSLC would need to obtain a seperate "Mechanical License" to permit burning of the show onto a CD. At this time COSLC does not have such a license. Listen to corrected information on the May 17, 2006 podcast.**Comments[0] |
Thu, 20 April 2006 DJ Chester Chomp is grossly outnumbered once again as Buzzkill takes leave for a soccer game. Claire the Bear changes her name to "Moe." Chomp gripes about Sony's Connect promotion on Aquafresh toothpaste and brings an Alaskan perspective on the Easter miracle. Kimmy Showgirl is not impressed, but does manage to identify the passover (or Seder) meal as Jesus' last supper. Kimmy discusses her recent shopping exploits as Russ and "Moe the Human Cash Register" tally the damage. Chi-ching! Moe invites the hosts to discuss what they had for lunch. Music by New Order, The Charlatans, Nina Cherry & Youssou N'Dour, VHS or Beta, Pet Shop Boys, Olive, Plus One, O.M.D., Rihanna and Terri Nunn. All music licensed by ASCAP or directly by the composer. Thu, 13 April 2006 DJ Chester Chomp, Russ the Weatherguesser, Buzzkill and Clairebear storm the studio once again for another hour of pure thrillride. Russ, disappointed with the statistics, reinstates screaming as a staple to the show. It is his bet that this will recapture the market share we lost over the past few weeks. Chomp thinks that if he could just get the podcast posted correctly, that would go a long way in increasing listenership. Clairebear doesn't care. But she's pleased as punch to help Russ with the yelling. Dr. Buzzkill orders rain to help clear up Chester's allergy problem. And all the thanks he gets is Chomp's threats to give him to Clairebear as a Christmas gift next year. (Those familiar with the show broadcast 2-1-06 will know how deadly this can be.) Music by Monica Mancini, Dido, Moonpools and Caterpillars, The Plungers, Morrissey, Soft Cell, MXPX, The Stone Roses, Garbage, Jesus & Mary Chain and Nena. All music licensed by ASCAP or directly through the composer.Comments[0] |
Thu, 6 April 2006 ![]() DJ Chester Chomp, Russ the Weatherguesser and Buzzkill, along with special (regular) guest hosts Clairebear, Kimmy Showgirl and The Puck, bring a decidedly more toned down performance. Despite Chomp and Buzz attempting to egg on the younglings in a segment of "Anklebiter Battles," they kids decided that they would rather just continue to harass Buzzkill and monopolize his computer. (That does sound like more fun.) The Puck and Clairebear bring us an end-of-the-season little-girls-league hockey report. Russ the Weatherguesser reads about the world's smallest owls which according to Russ are over four feet and 75 inches. Now that's informative! Music by Ministry, Delirious?, Pink, Missing Persons, A Flock of Seagulls, Carrie Underwood, P.M. Dawn, Brad Paisley feat. Dolly Parton, Simple Minds, Mis-Teeq, The Shamen and Moev. All songs licensed by ASCAP or directly from the composer. Comments[0] |
Thu, 30 March 2006 Buzzkill returns from vacation to find DJ Chester Chomp, Russ the Weatherguesser, Kimmy Showgirl and Clairebear had not broken anything while he was gone. Just as he breathes a sigh of relief, Clairebear's cell phone ends up mysteriously broken. Poor Clairebear! First a dead fish and now a broken cell phone. The whole gang is able to sympathize with her, though, and all share numerous stories of irresponsibility. Music by Lotus, Endorphin, Lush, Cocteau Twins, Art of Noise feat. Max Headroom, Hooverphonic, Mercy Me, St. Etienne, Keith Urban and The Pursuit of Happiness. All music licensed through ASCAP or directly by the composer.Comments[0] |
Fri, 24 March 2006 Its the Spring Break Showdown! Buzzkill is on assignment in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, so this leaves DJ Chester Chomp to singlehandedly handle the younglings. Russ the Weatherguesser brings us his latest book review. Warning: this gets smelly! Kimmy Showgirl and Clairebear give you a taste of what spring break is like on Alaska Beach. Music by Liz Phair, The October Project, Londonbeat, Longwave, Brittney Speares, The Ramones, Lou Bega, Sex Pistols, Gavin Degraw, Lulabox and Paul Oakenfold. All music licensed by ASCAP or directly through the composer.Comments[0] |
Thu, 16 March 2006 Fists in the air, the World of Sound gang stand defiant against media mediocrity and blandness. They will not stoop to airing a show that resembles anybody else's show. DJ Chester Chomp, Russ the Weatherguesser, Buzzkill, Clairebear, Kimmy Showgirl and special guest star Julia pack your ears with as much stuff as they can come up with in a single hour. Now that's edutainment! The gang discusses dreams and nightmares, Russ talks about the difficulties in his young life, and Kimmy Showgirl answers Spongebob fanmail. Music by Lene Lovich, Tom Tom Club, Lions & Ghosts, Avalon, Living In A Box, Ulrich Schnauss, Dr. Evil, Natasha Bedingfield, Mariah Carey and Issa Bagayogo. All music licensed through ASCAP or directly from the composer.Comments[0] |
Sat, 11 March 2006 The posse of podcast production pumps the power on another Wednesday night down in the basement of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church. Russ the Weatherguesser celebrates his one year anniversary of joining as an original member of the cast. Kimmy Showgirl reads some letters from Spongebob fans. Clairebear brought a couple great classic tracks for Buzzkill to play. And of course there is plenty of off-center music courtesy of DJ Chester Chomp's eclectic tastes. So please, everyone, clear the area, and make some room for the new noise...the World of Sound! Music by Imogen Heap, Kon Kan, Morcheeba, Asia, Hypnogaja, Bowling For Soup, Saving Jane, the Mommas and the Papas, Armin Van Buuren and Frou Frou.
